Demo testing should be intentional
A trader should not test a risk tool only by attaching it and waiting. Demo testing should deliberately trigger the conditions the tool is designed to handle.
The goal is to understand behavior before pressure arrives. If the trader does not know how a lock, warning, or management action works on demo, live use will feel uncertain.
A practical test plan
Start with a simple configuration. Then trigger one rule at a time. Change only one setting between tests so the result is easy to understand.
Keep notes on what happened, what the dashboard showed, and whether the result matched the written plan.
- Place sample manual trades and confirm trade counting.
- Trigger a daily loss lock with small demo positions.
- Trigger a profit lock and confirm new-trade behavior.
- Check session and manual news-lock states.
- Test break-even and trailing behavior with broker stop levels in mind.
Review logs and edge cases
The trader should review logs, broker messages, and any warnings. This is especially important when stop levels, freeze levels, spread, or symbol settings affect trade management.
A clean demo test builds confidence in the workflow. It does not validate the trading strategy or guarantee a live result.
Move slowly from demo to process
After demo testing, the trader should document the final settings and keep screenshots or notes for review. Any later change should be treated as a new configuration, not a casual tweak.
