Traders often think of automation as if the software can always place or modify orders exactly when requested. In reality, the broker environment can reject actions that violate symbol rules.
Stop levels and freeze levels are two important constraints. They can affect stops, take profits, trailing logic, and break-even moves.
The basic difference
A stop level is the minimum distance required between current price and a stop-loss or take-profit order. A freeze level is a zone near price where modification may be restricted.
If a tool tries to move a stop inside these limits, the broker may reject the modification. The trader may see this as a software issue when it is actually a broker-side rule.
- Check symbol specifications before testing management rules.
- Use buffers for break-even and trailing logic.
